Cast members from World Ballet Company will offer two leveled ballet classes at the Redding City Ballet studio before their performance at the Cascade Theatre!

Advanced Dancers (age 13+) will dance 12:30-2:00pm. Cost $35.

Intermediate Dancers (age 8+) will dance 2:00-3:15pm. Cost $30.

4:30-4:50pm - Beginner Audition (ages 5-8)

Dancers need to have attended a prior audition workshop to learn the audition choreography.

Audition workshop for Intermediate dancers ages 9-12 is Saturday, February 7, 10:30-12pm. Participation in an audition workshop is required to learn the audition choreography. Registration for auditions is required to participate in the workshop.

Audition workshop for Beginning dancers ages 5-8 is Saturday, February 7, 9:30-10:30am. Participation in an audition workshop is required to learn the audition choreography. Registration for auditions is required to participate in the workshop.

10am – 11am Children 6-9 years old (Creative Ballet, Pre-ballet, Level I Ballet equivalent)

11am – 12pm Children 10 -13 years old (Level II, III & IV Ballet equivalent)

12:30pm – 2:30pm Dancers 13 to adult: advanced male dancers and females en pointe at least one year (Level IV & V Ballet equivalent) 

2:30pm – 3:30pm Teen/Adult Character parts - ballroom dance experience a plus

Pre-registration is required. Children must be 6 by date of auditions. Please arrive 15 minutes before the audition time to allow for parking and check-in. Dance attire of black leotard, pink tights, pink shoes, hair in a bun for the females. Black tights or leggings and white shirt or leotard, hair pulled back for the males.

Join us at our Locust St studio for an audition information night to learn the details of participating in Redding City Ballet’s 2025 production of The Nutcracker in addition to auditioning for the Redding City Ballet Company. Tentative rehearsal, performance, and fee schedule will be provided.

Redding City Ballet’s Chance 2 Dance program is dedicated to enriching the lives of students in 3rd to 5th grade through the art of ballet. This initiative offers a full year of ballet training at Redding City Ballet’s School of Dance, along with an allowance for dance uniform and the exciting opportunity to audition for a role in Redding City Ballet’s renowned production of The Nutcracker and our Spring Performance (up to a $1600 value). We offer 3 tiers of scholarship based on demonstrated need: Full scholarship, 75% scholarship, and 50% scholarship.

Program Requirements:

• Open to students in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade who demonstrate a passion for ballet and lack the financial means to pursue formal training. (Ages 8-10)

• Families must provide household income to prove eligibility for the program.

• Students and their families must commit to attending ballet classes twice a week.

Pre-registration is required to audition. Please submit the simple form below to register for auditions. When you come for the audition, please bring your household’s estimated gross monthly income and a list of your household’s dependents so that we can calculate program eligibility.

Join us for a pop-up Intermediate Lyrical Jazz class taught by Grace Hegenbarth. Register for the class in our online store or pay at the door. $15 per dancer ages 10+.
